About Wild Ivy House
Wild Ivy House is a regenerative home and retreat system shaped by slow living, nature connection, and contemplative practice. From private houses to individual retreat rooms - Wild Ivy House consists of a collection of homes designed for different ways of staying. Together they form a flexible environment for rest, group gatherings, and longer personal stays blending nourishing nature and peaceful village life.

About the name
Wild Ivy House takes its name from Zen Master Hakuin’s autobiography Wild Ivy (Itsumadegusa), referencing the Japanese ivy as a symbol of continual renewal. This is reflected in the landscape below the house, where a sheltered gorge is thick with ivy and a year-round stream flows through shaded rock, sustaining a small bird habitat. Together with the surrounding terraced farmland and protected mountain range, it forms a continuous ecology between cultivated land and wild terrain, held together by ivy as a living emblem of regeneration.

Vision and Purpose
Wild Ivy is a space dedicated to both inner and outer nourishment and renewal. Our intention is to create an environment that supports deeply restorative, regenerative stays. In the meeting of house, land, and community rhythms, visitors are invited into a slower pace of life and the deep time of the Sierra. We welcome meditators and travellers alike, offering quiet support as you find your own rhythm and shape a stay that fits your intention.
